Aren't all investment newsletters pretty much the same?

Due to similarities in marketing and services it appears as if this may be the case. Despite these appearances, there are significant differences. There are three major criteria that one should review when selecting a market newsletter:

1) Are the publisher's interests aligned with yours? Many times, advisors derive revenues from other sources that run contradictory to your interests. For instance, certain TV personalities, business news reporters, and investment magazines receive hefty payments from advertisers and other business relationships. Investors should always consider the source of their investment information and question whether they are receiving truly independent advice.

2) Do you have direct and consistent access to the firm's expertise? The effectiveness of any newsletter is directly proportionate to the amount of experience and expertise the writers have and how they interact with Members like you. Try asking an investment ape follow-up questions; there is a good chance that your emails are not getting answered.

3) Where do you fit in terms of the firm's operating style? Rather then providing personalized services to Members, many newsletter firms will impose inappropriate investment styles and structures on clients, suggesting that the client is ''getting access'' to something special.

Blue Chip Stock Trader's membership services are unique because we focus on trading as a behavioral science. We train our Members to examine their own trading behavior and how it relates to achieving consistent positive results. This training occurs over time as our Members absorb our trading style and rationale through our daily newsletters. We love to hear from our Members and encourage email dialogue.

Are your recommendations considered speculative or conservative?

By definition all equity market transactions are speculative. Our recommendations are integrated with a risk management system that does not use options or any other derivatives-just plain old cash market trading. We do not focus on OTC bulletin board stocks or penny stocks. We prefer to invest and trade in large and medium cap stocks that are liquid and that trade efficiently.

How often do you publish and what do Members receive?

Members receive a late-night email entitled The Morning Meeting that revisits and analyzes that day's trading activity and market conditions. The Morning Meeting is not published on weekends or market holidays. Blue Chip Stock Trader evaluates the economic environment and market conditions and explains the logic behind the trading and risk-management strategies that we use. We are proponents of fundamental analysis combined with technical analysis to determine entry and exit points for targeted stocks. Members can also log into the website to view The Morning Meeting. Members are encouraged to email us with any questions, comments, observations, and suggestions that we will then incorporate into the next nightly email. We always respect Members' privacy; feedback included in The Morning Meeting will never reveal individual Members' identities.

Do you own and trade the stocks that you highlight in The Morning Meeting?

Unlike most newsletters and stock services, Blue Chip Stock Trader actually trades our own capital. We have been doing this for over fifteen years and are good at it. Members have the opportunity to understand our rationale and monitor our activity.

Why do you show a few losses on some trades?

All traders and investors experience losses. We do not insult your intelligence with hype of 300% returns the way some newsletters do. Do we achieve 300% returns on specific trades? We have in the past and we are confident that we will in the future. However, most trades do not go up 300%. Traders and investors will never be successful until they come to grips with the reality that sometimes s#*% happens. All successful traders have their own risk management rules that are designed to protect and preserve capital. Blue Chip Stock Trader occasionally takes losses on individual trades consistent with our risk management system. We contain losses and let winners run.

How does your guarantee work?

You can cancel at any time and we will immediately refund any remaining monthly portion of your membership fee. For example: If a Member joins for a year and after six months decides to cancel his/her membership, we will refund an amount equal to half of the original membership fee.  Members that subscribe to the one month membership plan will not be billed on their next billing date. Do I have to remember to renew at the end of each membership period?

Memberships are renewed automatically at the end of each membership period until you cancel your membership. For example: A Member joins using the 3-month billing plan on March 15th. The Member will be billed automatically on June 15th etc. We ask that Members that choose not to be re-billed tell us prior to 5 days before their next billing date.
